You are the Light of the world. Matthew 5 vs 14
These incredible words Jesus spoke to His followers having already told them He was the Light of the world. John 8 vs 12 Amazing indeed.
The other evening as we were worshiping in our meeting room, I believe the Lord drew my attention to the 18 small LED ceiling lights we had on.
The majority of the ceiling was without a light but these 18 small lights were each emitting light that reached the light that the other bulbs were emitting, and the whole room was filled with light. A simple but powerful illustration of the power you and I have .
I felt that the Lord was saying to me that although we may be separated and relatively few in number compared to the population all around us, as we each emit His light we fill the world with Heavens light.
This resonates with Isaiah 9 vs 2 ‘the people that walked in darkness have seen a great light’ and even more with Isaiah 60 vs 1,2. Arise shine for your light has come and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you, for darkness will cover the earth and deep darkness the people, but the Lord will rise upon you and His Glory will be seen upon you. Nations will come to your light and Kings to the brightness of your shining……… (read on it’s good stuff)
It has always been God’s purpose that His people should be a blessing to the world and point the people to Himself and His own glory, and although we may be isolated I believe He wants you to know that:-
1) every time we worship, thank Him or turn to Him, seen from heaven we are ‘shining brighter’ and He loves it. (You are also giving the devil a headache).
2) every time we pray for someone or release a blessing over someone, our light is shining into the darkness all around,
3) every time we take the time to allow the Holy Spirit and His Word to speak to our hearts, to renew our mind, correct some thinking, to change an attitude, we are shining and releasing heavens light,
4) every time during this season we seek reconciliation or forgiveness, or seek to reunite with others, we are positively glowing in the heavenly realm.
5) Every time we pray for and intercede for our nation, our leaders, the world around us, we are pushing back the darkness, and releasing light.
So be encouraged, the Holy Spirit is using all that we are doing in hiddeness in this time to bring the love of Jesus and the Light of heaven into our world. And as we continue doing these things with our eyes on Jesus, just know that you are also being changed from one degree of glory to another 2 Corinthians 3 vs 18
